DHEA
DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone) is produced by the adrenal glands. DHEA production declines with age starting in the twenties. DHEA plays a critical role in maintaining our health, enhancing our immune system, and preventing disease. It is important to measure the level of this hormone in the blood prior to taking it as a supplement. Equally important is to remeasure the level after starting DHEA therapy to assure the level is in an optimal range.
